Ever since starting my business and photographing weddings all over Virginia, I’ve come to realize that there a lot of really neat places here in Virginia that you can get married! There are a particularly a lot of beautiful historic locations that contain so much history and grand scenery, just like Berkeley Plantation! This was the perfect place for Sarah and Chauncey’s Fall wedding!

Sarah and Chauncey’s wedding was the first chilly wedding I’ve photographed all year, which was a nice change from all the scorching hot weddings we’ve had this year! There’s just something about that cool crisp Fall air that really makes for a romantic and relaxed setting for a wedding. From the garden ceremony behind the historic plantation house to the outdoor ceremony right on the James River, Sarah and Chauncey had the perfect wedding day! And Sarah knew it as she kept squealing “we have the perfect wedding!” 

Seeing the unfiltered and raw joy and excitement between a couple on their wedding day is something that will never get old for me. No matter all the distractions around them on their wedding day, couples like Sarah and Chauncey still can’t contain their giddy and excited emotions surrounding the fact that they are becoming husband and wife. We had to keep corrected Chauncey when he would refer to himself as Sarah’s fiance after the ceremony. That “wow” look on face every time he realized he was now her husband was just priceless! 

Sarah and Chauncey’s wedding was such a joy to photograph and the perfect way to wrap up my fall wedding season. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones!!   I love these elegant and delicate boutonnieres!  What a priceless reaction from Sarah’s bridesmaids!   Can you tell that he’s excited to see his bride?? You know I’m a sucker for dogs on a couples wedding day!  How precious is sweet Gunner?!! Such a handsome ring bearer!   These post-ceremony portraits were so sweet because Chauncey just couldn’t hide his excitement!! Love their joy!  I’m slightly obsessed with long tree-lined southern driveways!   Once the party got started, it never stopped!! What a fun crowd!
