Virginia may be for lovers, but it is also for history lovers! Throw a rock and you’ll hit some important piece of our country’s history. And I honestly never even realized how many historic places there were all around me until I started photography and was shooting at all these places! And one of those sites is Berkeley Plantation– the place where the first Thanksgiving happened in the 1600s! Not to mention, it is also gorgeous!! Give me all the hedges, all structures and manicured gardens!
Darcie and Darron’s love story pulls on my heart strings as it is so similar to my own. Started dating in high school, got engaged the summer before their last year in college and now planning a wedding for the July after they graduate! Not to mention, Darcie also goes to JMU! Go Dukes! Darcie is also a southern girl at heart and loves all things neutral, just like yours truly! So basically I couldn’t ask for a better bride! And Darron is one of the rare grooms that was actually really excited for their engagement pictures! Could these two be more perfect?
We met up an a hot summer afternoon at the gorgeous Berkeley Plantation. We were shooting after hours, so we had the whole place to ourselves! Score! If you’ve ever been there, then you know that the property is HUGE!! Let’s just say that we definitely got our steps in that night trekking all over the property! I had such a great time hanging out with these two and can’t wait to do it again a year from now!
Couple goals!! And boxwood goals!! haha!
