This past week has been full of surprises and excitement for Wes and Amanda. Wes is in the Marines and stationed in New Orleans while Amanda lives here in Virginia. Last week, Wes came home as a surprise to Amanda! Imagine her surprise when he strolled into a family 4th of July picnic and after they excitedly embraced each other, he gets down on one knee to propose! And the surprises didn’t end there! 

A few months ago, Wes’s sister reached out to me telling me about Amanda and Wes’s story and how Wes had planned to surprise Amanda with a visit home and a proposal! So Wes’s sister wanted to surprise them with an already scheduled engagement session with me a few days after the proposal! What a whirlwind for these two! I was so excited when the proposal finally came and I got to finally meet them! They are the sweetest couple and were just bubbling with excitement over this very exciting week!

Wes’s sister and I planned out every detail of the session weeks before the shoot. The date, time AND location. She mentioned that Amanda liked southern plantations, so we landed on Chippokes Plantation State Park! I had actually never been out there, but it is so beautiful! It was the perfect southern setting for this sweet southern couple! I’m so excited for these two and so honored to have been a part of this very exciting time in their lives! 

You know, for only having a few days to prepare for their engagement session, their outfits are ON POINT!
