What a perfect way to cap off my 2018 season! A warm December afternoon, perfect amount of clouds during portrait time, a sweet couple and wedding party and a 10-minute commute from my house! Can’t beat that! With my being 35 weeks pregnant at this wedding, we did have a plan b in place in case something should happen that kept me from being able to shoot it. But luckily, baby was still cooking nicely and I was able to shoot Katie and Clark’s wedding no problem!
I find that each season brings a different vibe to a wedding day. Winter weddings are especially different and special. They have a very laid back feel with a slower pace. And with the sun setting so early in the day, the second half of the wedding day has a very relaxed feel since we’ve already done ALL our outdoor portraits! So no rushing to catch the sunset in the middle of the reception! The color palette and design for Katie and Clark’s wedding had the perfect classy timeless look that matched the season and the settings like the historic downtown church and Chrysler Museum!
So enjoy a few of my favorites from my LAST wedding of the year!! Congrats to Katie and Clark!!
Love this custom watercolor illustration they had made for their save the date! You’ll see farther down how we recreated this picture!
A sweet first look with Katie’s dad!
Now it’s Clark’s turn to see his lovely bride!
How sweet is his reaction??
It’s so easy to see how smitten he is with his gorgeous bride!
Favorite! So classic and timeless! I can see their grandchildren looking at this picture one day!
Time to get married!
Love this reception space at The Chrysler Museum!
