It’s wedding days like these and love stories like Emily and Michael’s that remind me how important my job is. You’ve spent months planning every last detail of this day. Family and friends have come together from all over the globe to celebrate your marriage (especially for this wedding- only a handful of people were actually lived in town!). And your relationship has taken a long and winding road to get to this day. The day where you set out on a lifelong journey together. Documenting the culmination of all these factors is not a job that I take lightly. And being able to do this for one of my dearest friends is such a huge honor. I can without a doubt say that this was my most anticipated wedding of the year. Not just because of the gorgeous blush and gold details, but rather because of the people involved. These people are like family to me and being a part of this wedding was simply priceless.
The best way to describe Emily and Michael’s love is “go big or go home”. Having known Emily since we were young, I can attest that she has never been on to do things halfway. She gives everything and everyone 100% of herself and her success and friendships are proof of that. She’s faced life experiences that have taught her that life is short and you have to make the most of it! So when her romance with Michael first started, she didn’t let the past or obstacles in her way slow her down. She took a leap of faith and jumped in with both feet and is now living out her much-deserved happily ever after!
Emily and Michael first met back in college through mutual friends. Emily was attending UVA and Michael played football at West Point. But it wasn’t until about 4 years later that their love story began. Michael called her just to catch up before leaving for a deployment in Afghanistan. So being Emily, she immediately made plans to meet him in Atlanta for a few days before leaving. They spent those days catching up and hanging out with his family, trying to convince themselves and everyone around them that they were just friends. They say that his family and friends noticed the spark between them before they did! Throughout his deployment, they talked every day and really got to know each other. Michael went from envisioning himself living out his days as a bachelor to not being able to go a day without talking to Emily. After returning home safe, Emily moved across the country to Washington to be with him and the rest is history!
Emily and Michael’s were married in a beautiful Catholic ceremony in downtown Atlanta. Their wedding day was simply gorgeous from start to finish with beautiful ivory and blush details throughout. And just wait until you see the reception! So gorgeous! Throughout the planning process, Emily sent me all the fun details and ideas she had in store for her wedding so I knew that it was going to be amazing! And it certainly did not disappoint!
Words can’t describe how happy I am for these two. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two adventurers! Thank you for allowing me to capture the beginning of your happily ever after! I love you both!! Emily brought this gold sparkle paper for her detail photos and it was perfect!!! Love the Kate Spade earrings and Stella & Dot bracelets that Emily gave her bridesmaids! Time for her gals to see her for the first time! Emily even had her dress in hiding the whole morning!Precious!! What a stunning wedding party! We walked to the Atlanta Capitol Building right down the street- it was the perfect setting for their photos!! Swoon!!! How awesome is this reception space?! I wouldn’t mind if my living room looked a little something like this! Love how you can see the steeple of the church where their wedding just took place in the background! Love this family so much!! This classic car was the perfect finishing touch to their elegant wedding!
