After a slow 2020 wedding season (thanks COVID!) and a long winter break from shooting, it was so nice to dust off my camera and get back to it this weekend! I drove down to Duck, North Carolina to meet up with Rebecca and CJ for their engagement session. It was so nice to hang out with and photograph my sweet couples again!

Rebecca and CJ were set up by mutual friends for a blind date more than 3 years ago and needless to say, they’re friends seem to know them pretty well as they’ve been inseparable ever since! Fast forward a few years and CJ is planning a romantic proposal while in Florida on a family vacation.

When starting the discussion about their engagement session, Rebecca immediately knew that they wanted to do them in Duck, a special place to the couple. Rebecca has been vacationing to Duck with her family for years, so when she and CJ started dating and took him there for the first time, she basically told him that he had no choice but to love it there. And he did! We met up on a Friday afternoon and they were able to rent a cute AirBnb and make a weekend getaway out of it!

The best part about shooting at the beach in the ‘off season’ is that you get the whole place to yourself!
