Couples like Katie and Thomas make my job so easy. You can tell that these two have never met a stranger. Their engagement session was our first time meeting in person, but I immediately felt like I had known them for years! And they are also just so much fun! They had fun with every pose and direction I gave them! It’s not often that I fill up a whole memory card during an engagement session, but for this one I did just that and then some!
Katie and Thomas met while both attending Virginia Tech. Katie’s sorority was having a date party where they had to pick each other’s dates! Katie’s friend picked Thomas to be her date and now they’ve been each other’s date ever since! As time went on, they still asked each other in creative ways to be each other’s date to their sorority and fraternity date parties. Thomas would always ask her in a creative poem, so when Thomas’s extensive proposal scavenger hunt started with a poem and a series of clues, Katie thought he was just planning a fun weekend for them! So when she got to the end and found him on one knee, she was totally surprised!
Katie was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, so it was fitting that we do their engagement session there! Fort Monroe offered a variety of beautiful settings for their session! And they will actually be getting married at The Historic Post Office in Hampton next year! Can’t wait!
