Our Sweet Baby James is ONE today!! Is there anything more bittersweet than watching your child grow a little too fast in front of your eyes?? I’m not one to be emotional, normally, but something just came over me last night as I was putting him to bed knowing that by morning, he would be a year old! This boy is making me soft!
What a year it’s been with this sweet boy. Life is SO different now! This boy runs our life but we wouldn’t have it any other way! He brings us so much joy everyday. And somehow seems to just get cuter and sweeter with each day!
So let’s take a trip down memory lane! I definitely failed in the personal blogging department this year, so I’ll just make up for it in one long year-review post! Here’s a glimpse at a year of James!
December 20, 2018. 2:49 AM. 6 pounds 7 ounces. 19.25 inches long. So surreal.
Click here to read his birth story!
I can’t believe he used to be this tiny!
Technically, he’s already had his first Christmas!
Still obsessed with our newborn photos by Sarah Street!
Look at those little scrawny legs! Didn’t take long for this twigs to fill in with delicious baby rolls!
Tsk tsk.
Didn’t love his first trip to the beach. haha!
Ok, now he’s doing it on purpose!
Getting baptized!
He wore a christening gown that has been in Branden’s family for generations!
Branden in the gown!
5 months was a doozy. It’s amazing how much sleep (or lack, thereof) can affect your sanity!
First dip in the pool! His neck float was the cutest thing!
First trip to the Outer Banks!
Sophie is life.
Then at 6 months came the helmet! Check out this post for more info on the helmet!
Timber!
Oh look, my foot!
And as you probably already know, James LOVES food!
We started ‘Baby Led Weaning’ when he was 6 months old, which basically means we give him whole foods instead of purees. A lot of people have asked how we got him to eat so well, but honestly he was just really into food from the first time we gave it to him! No special tricks, really!
More amazing photos from Sarah!
First family croquet tournament. Just wanted to eat everything.
Lake trip with the family! He loved riding on the boat!
Will crawl for remote.
Once we started pulling up on things, he would get himself stuck in between standing and sitting. Poor thing!
Still no sign of teeth at 9 months!
Probably my favorite picture of him, thus far! Those eyes!
First Halloween!
Around 10 months he became really interested in books! He loves pulling them out of his basket!
Our first family Christmas photos! By Luke & Ashley
Kind of hoping for a good snow storm this year so he can see his first real snow! We didn’t get any last winter!
First Thanksgiving!
One of the reasons that I love this photos is that it was actually candid. I saw them sitting in his room and just grabbed my camera!
First tree!
What happens when I let my hair down…
He can actually stand pretty well now! It think walking will be very soon!
Every kid needs a Santa photo like this, right?
Finally got two bottom teeth right before his birthday!
If each day continues to be sweeter than the last, then this next year should be pretty amazing! I can’t believe I get to be this boy’s mama. Ok, brb while I go drown in a puddle of my tears!
What a bundle of joy! Your year in review is point on. Enjoy little James as he moves on (literally) to the toddler stage!
Oh my goodness, these are precious! One year is such a milestone. Happy, happy birthday to your little blessing, James!
