Kristen and Stephen’s wedding this past weekend was the PERFECT way to kick off my 2017 wedding season! A sweet couple that is so kind and such a joy to work with- I don’t know how I got so lucky to have clients like them! A gorgeous venue, a beautiful day (despite the 90 degree heat!), portrait time GALORE, great light and so much more! 

Kristen and Stephen’s wedding was quite the family affair. Their family members were running the show and had a hand in so many parts of the wedding day! Stephen’s mom did ALL the florals!! Parents, aunts, uncles and all spent the whole morning doing the whole setup! But then coordinator took over once the wedding started so everyone could just enjoy the party! I remember when I was planning my own wedding that I loved asking family members to have different roles in the wedding process. It was so fun to have everyone involved in our big day and I loved seeing how Kristen and Stephen did that too! 

Their wedding day was also full of many special tear-jerker moments. The first being when Kristen and Stephen exchanged letters before their first look. Kristen had a journal full of letters and prayers to her future husband that she had been writing since she was a teenager! You can imagine the tears that were not only streaming down Stephen’s face when he read them, but mine too! And then again when they took a spontaneous moment during the ceremony to pray together silently right before they were announced as husband and wife. It is so heartwarming to see couples that took this entry into marriage with such care and attention. It’s clear to see that Kristen and Stephen are setting themselves up for a lifetime of happiness together!

It was such a privilege to capture the beginning of this journey for Kristen and Stephen. Their wedding was such a breeze and a joy to photograph. I’m so excited for them to start their new life together in North Carolina where Kristen just matched into her pediatric residency! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Simon!
