For the past 3 weekends, I have made the trek up to Richmond every Sunday for an engagement session. Sometimes the same locations, sometimes new ones. But with each session, we’ve had an abundance of golden light, gorgeous scenery and beautiful fall foliage! Not to mention amazing couples! Richmond is really starting to become a favorite place for me to shoot! 

This weekend I met up with Cass and Dave at Byrd Park for their engagement session. They both attended Mary Washington and knew of each other through a few classes that they had together. But they didn’t officially meet until they both took jobs after graduation as admissions counselors at Mary Washington. After being friends for a few years, they realized there was more to their relationship and started dating. And now here they are, living their lives together in Richmond and getting married next year! 

It’s always such a treat when I have couples that start out a session nervous and not knowing what to expect, but then get warmed up to camera like pros in no time! Engagement sessions should not only result in beautiful images of you and your fiance during this special season of your life, but they should also be fun! It’s always my goal to ensure that this is an easy and fun experience for my couples. Hearing a groom say at the end of a session “That really wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be!” is like music to my ears! haha! Cass and Dave’s session was so effortless and fun and I can’t wait to do it again on their wedding day at Upper Shirley Vineyards next sumer!When a session starts with golden bokeh like this, you know it’s going to be a good one!   What??!! Killin it in the first frames!  How perfect are their outfits up against this fall foliage?!  The Carillon at Byrd Park is definitely a new favorite spot for me! So gorgeous!  That ring!! So stunning!  Then we headed down to Brown’s Island for that classic Richmond backdrop.
