Mother nature tried to keep Kristen and Stephen’s engagement session from happening last week, but luckily they are super sweet and were willing to come up with a Plan B last minute when our initial session got rained out. They were only in town for the weekend, so we planned to meet up the next morning at sunrise in hopes that the rain would stay away long enough for their engagement session. Luckily it did, and the sun even poked out at the end! Yay!
Kristen grew up in Hampton Roads, but moved to New Orleans after college for medical school. Little did she know that she would also meet the love of her life while she lived there. Kristen and Stephen were in the same small group through their church and she instantly caught his eye. He cleverly pursued her by offering to watch her fish when she went home for the holidays. He used this encounter as an opportunity to offer to show her around Baton Rouge, to which she said yes and has been saying yes ever since! All the way until Stephen set up an perfectly planned sunset rooftop proposal, complete with a planted couple to capture the moment! Kristen was totally taken by surprise and of course, said yes!
After getting engaged, they didn’t waste any time planning their dream wedding! Within a few weeks they had booked a venue, photographer and were doing their engagement session! They were in town this past weekend from Kristen’s brother’s wedding, so it was a perfect time to do their engagement session. We met up on a very windy, but thankfully dry morning at the beach in Virginia Beach. These guys were such troopers for braving the wind and totally rocked their sessions! Can’t wait for their wedding next spring! Then we headed over to Pleasure House Point for a much less windy second half to their session!
