We set the date for Michelle and Matt’s engagement session months ago. When your fiance is in the military and you both live out of town, you don’t have the luxury of being flexible when it comes to scheduling! So when the night before their session the forecast was calling for rain most of the day, we knew rescheduling wasn’t an option. We made the last minute call to switch the session to the morning in hopes that we would miss the rain- which we did! Definitely made the right call!
Michelle and Matt’s engagement session was so classic and patriotic. The white and marble backdrop of the Capitol building in downtown Richmond, Matt donning his sharp military suit and their sweet puppy, Lizzie, who was also sporting an American flag bandana! We lucked out with a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in Richmond for their session. It was really neat driving around the city early in the morning when the rest of the city seemed to be asleep! And the best part about a morning session is getting to take a nap afterwards!
Michelle and Matt have a modern love story in that they met online! I think people would be surprised as to how many people are actually meeting their spouses via online dating! After months of texting, Michelle was hesitant to move forward, but Matt wasn’t going to give up on her! And good thing he didn’t! Not long after they were both living in North Carolina and the rest was history. When it came time to propose, Matt planned the entire thing while deployed in Iraq! Well done!
I had a great time getting to spend this lovely morning with Michelle and Matt in Richmond for their engagement session. Can’t wait for their Richmond wedding this fall!
How adorable is Ms Lizzie?!
Mom, are we done yet??
