I’m not going to lie. Washington DC intimidates me. The traffic, the parking, the tourists, the security. So I always have a bit of anxiety going into a shoot in this city. Am I going to drive 3 hours just to get stuck in crazy traffic and miss the session? Are there going to be floods of tourists making it impossible to shoot? How am I going to from my car, will my heavy camera bag, to the meeting place over a mile away?
Luckily, Kelsey and Kyle’s DC session was easy and breezy! Almost no traffic getting in (knocking on all the woods things), perfect weather, scooters to zip around on (yes, I was one of the annoying people scooting around town!) and my favorite little monument nestled in the trees hidden from the flood of tourists! Did I mention they also brought along their adorable pup, Ollie, for the session??
Kelsey and Kyle met while both attending Virginia Tech. They met as freshman, but remained friends until their senior year when they decided to become more than friends! Six years later, Kyle proposed in Georgetown at the spot where they had their first date! And to top it all off, he had 30 of their friends gathered at a nearby bar to celebrate! Nicely done, Kyle!
Kelsey and Kyle were so easy to photograph. Easy going, joyful and obviously really into each other! And special thanks to Kelsey’s mom and friend that came along to be on dog duty and carry all the things! Loved getting to stroll around DC with these guys (and our helpers!) last week! Can’t wait for their Burlington Plantation wedding next fall!
The DC War Memorial is the perfect spot to get that DC memorial look without tons of people around!
Ollie is just the cutest!
