Happy Monday, friends! Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start! I know my weekend was pretty amazing as I finally got to shoot a wedding at a venue that was at the top of my wishlist, Pippin Hill! We were so lucky to have great weather with the perfect thin layer of clouds all day long! Can’t wait to blog it later this week!
Thoughts and happenings from the week!
- I had high expectations for this venue this weekend, so I wasn’t sure if they would be met. But they were! The views and aesthetics were pretty much what I expected, but it was the service and attention to detail by the venue that blew me away! I mean, waiters with trays of champagne for guests as they arrived to the reception?? And waiters that lay plates a food at your setting synchronized with the other waiters?? Also, polenta croutons. Just look it up, trust me. I’m so excited this get to shoot there again this fall!
- The wedding photographer hangover is a real thing, people. All the aches- feet, head, back, arms- everywhere. And I had a mean one this weekend. Maybe my body’s not used to shooting weddings after a couple months off. Or maybe I just overdid it yesterday or didn’t drink enough water. Ouch.
- My mom LOVES all things mountains, hiking and outdoors. So when she saw that I was shooting weddings in the mountains all the time, she asked if she could start coming with! This has worked out great for me! We drive up together, drop me off, she hikes all day, the picks me up when I’m done and drives me home! Definitely beats doing these long road trips by myself! Thanks mom!
