Weekend Update

This weekend was full of joy, excitement and peonies galore! My heart is full and feet are tired! Here’s a quick recap of this past week!

  • In the course of two consecutive days, I was in my car for 10+ hours! What?? I definitely don’t love the long drives to weddings, but it’s just so cool to be able to weddings all over Virginia! Friday’s wedding was at a historic post office in Downtown Hampton and Saturday’s was at a mountain lodge in Lexington with 360 views of the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains!
  • Double header weddings weekends are no joke. Between the lack of sleep and the endless hours on my feet, the wedding hangover afterwards is very real! But one body part that I find is quite sore after weekends like this is actually my right thumb! This is the finger that I use to push the focus button on my camera and it was SO sore after this weekend! So random!
  • I’ve found myself reminiscing over my time at JMU lately. Between driving on 81 this weekend, Branden’s sister getting ready to attend as a freshman in the fall and Saturday’s wedding where the bride and groom met at JMU (and the fight song broke out!). We haven’t had a proper visit since graduating in 2012, so that definitely needs to happen soon! GO DUKES!
  • In this area, the busy wedding season is May, June and September, October with a slight decline in the hot summer months. So my next wedding is actually 4 weeks away! I’m definitely looking forward to this little mid-season break to get caught up on my to-do list before the workshop in August and a crazy fall wedding season!
  • And what better way to kick off that break than with a little vacay! On Wednesday, I’ll be heading to Corolla for a few days for my annual family OBX beach week! So I’ll be kicking into high gear these next few days to try to get this weekend’s weddings done before then! This is when I really wish I was a coffee drinker!

Now it’s time for the sneak peeks!! First up is Celia and Clint’s Historic Post Office wedding in Hampton, VA! Celia’s joy is contagious!!

Then on Saturday, I drove out to the mountains for Anisha and Ethan’s Irvine Estate wedding in Lexington, VA. The view from this hilltop venue will make your jaw drop, for sure! lexington-va-irvine-estate-wedding-photo113.JPG
