Holiday weekends are always busy for wedding photographers because there are usually a lot of weddings happening on these weekends! I had my first ever Thursday wedding followed by a Saturday one! But then had Sunday and Monday off, which made the weekend the perfect mix of work and pleasure!
When you and your couple collectively drive 8+ hours one way so you can have epic mountain views for your engagement session, you cross all your fingers and toes for good weather! We had a gorgeous evening on Skyline Drive for Jordan and Matt’s engagement session! We did a lot of google map searching and research to find the perfect overlook spot for their session and I think we found it at Timber Hollow Overlook! I love that it was an overlook that you could actually walk down into as opposed to just viewing it from the road!
When Caroline and Mike were dating, the first winery they went to together was Stone Tower Winery. While there, they saw a wedding going on and both thought how lovely it would be to get married there. Now, here they are years later having their very own dream wedding at this stunning venue! Even the rain in the forecast couldn’t diminish the joy surrounding their big day!
Another weekend, another amazing wedding!! This time I traveled all the way up to Leesburg for Caroline and Mike’s stunning Stone Tower Winery wedding! This was my first time there and it is a beaut! Even in the rain, it was stunning! Getting to explore and shoot at new places is worth the many hours spent on the road!
The 4th Audrey Rose Workshop has already come and gone!! How is that possible?! This one was a little bitter sweet as it is my last workshop for a good while with the arrival of Baby Deyerle fast approaching. But it was so sweet because I got to bring him along with me in my tummy all day! Each workshop is so different and so great in different ways! Each new group of attendees brings a new and different dynamic to the day. We even had our first guy for this workshop! He was such a trooper spending the whole day with a bunch of girls!
After what’s been a pretty wet summer here in Virginia, the hot sun on Krissy and James’ wedding day was a welcome surprise! Krissy and James’ wedding was classy from start to finish. From the simple classy details to the actual locations of the day- The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and The Jefferson Hotel! Two iconic Richmond spots! With a classic Richmond trolley to shuttle them in between, of course!
