Sometimes I find that I get along almost too well with my couples. During engagement sessions, I’ll often find myself chatting with them more than shooting them! And that was definitely the case with Kara and Scott at their engagement session last week! Even though we had just met, I felt like we had known each other for years! Hanging out with them was so effortless, easy and fun!
We met up on a warm and sunny afternoon at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. This is definitely a favorite place of mine to shoot. So much variety in scenery and the light is always amazing! The only downside to our afternoon together were the bugs! I don’t know what happened, but for whatever reason allll the mosquitos and horse flies in the world were out that night! Lesson learned that I need to be bringing bug spray to sessions! But these two were such troopers! We resorted to a lot of walking pictures so that they wouldn’t get eaten alive by standing still! But it was all worth it and I can’t wait to do it again at their Kingsmill wedding next Spring!
Kara has the most amazing model stare! Fierce!
How cute is this light house?? I can’t believe I never knew it was there!
The main diamond in Kara’s ring is actually an heirloom from Scott’s grandmother!
