Everyone anxiously watched the weather forecast all week leading up to Kelly and Paul’s wedding. Hurricane Matthew threatened to force their wedding to change location entirely, but everything worked out and Kelly and Paul had the wedding of their dreams in Downtown Norfolk this weekend! Although, Matthew still made an appearance!

Kelly and I actually cheered together back in the day at JMU! It’s so special to be able to catch up with and capture the wedding day of old friends! Kelly was always the funny laid back girl that was always such a blast to have around. You may remember that I photographed another one of our cheer teammates weddings this past Spring! Kelly and Paul also have a sweet spot in my heart because they are also high school sweethearts! With a love story so similar to Branden and I, it was so sweet to see them finally become husband and wife this past weekend!  

Kelly and Paul were married in a classy fall wedding at the Half Moone in Downtown Norfolk. By the time we got to the venue, Hurricane Matthew had reared it’s ugly head and made it’s presence known. But Kelly and Paul and their whole wedding party weren’t bothered one bit! They all stood in the sideways rain for pictures without any complaints! Even a hurricane couldn’t steal the joy surrounding their big day! All their guests danced the night away without a care in the world about what was going on outside. 

Kelly and Paul, I’m so happy to see you guys finally become husband and wife! Enjoy your honeymoon in Costa Rica!   Sparkly gold details for days!! Love her custom wedding band! So delicate and beautiful!  The gold sparkle details even extended to Kelly’s hair! So gorgeous!  Time for Paul to see his stunning bride! Getting a 360 view of the dress! When you’re shooting portraits in a hurricane, you’re not left with many location options.
