It goes without saying that 2020 has been an interesting year for weddings. What should have been a busy spring full of weddings, turned into an empty calendar. Jill and Isaac were originally supposed to get married in June. So when they had to reschedule, they pushed it to July 4th. I had been looking forward to their wedding for months as it was my first post-covid wedding! And it did not disappoint!
Jill and Isaac were married at the sweetest country venue in the mountains, The Barn at Edgewood. Not only is this a gorgeous and romantic spot to get married, it also has special significance to Jill as she grew up in the area and has known the owners of the farm since she was a little girl! Her dad even works for the venue!
Needless to say, Jill and Isaac have had to deal with a lot of changes and obstacles since Covid hit. Rescheduling, replanning and following guidelines and mandates. But everything came together beautifully thanks to their tenacity and an amazing lineup of vendors! You would have never known this wedding took place in the middle of a pandemic based on all the joy and excitement that filled the day!
Jill and Isaac met while attending William & Mary. Since graduating, they have been long distance while they pursue further training. Isaac at Harvard Med and Jill at UNC getting a graduate degree in Chemistry. Let’s just say that between these two and their friends, there was a LOT of brain power at this wedding!
I’m honored to have been able to capture this sweet and special day for such an amazing couple! Their families, friends and guests were all such a pleasure to work with and made for a perfect wedding day!
They rolled with the theme that their new wedding day brought! Lot’s of red, white and blue!
Each of Jill’s bridesmaids wrote her a letter to read on her wedding day. So sweet!
This first look with Jill’s dad and brother was a real tear jerker! They also played the soundtrack from Tarzan as she walked down the steps which really upped the emotions!
Not a dry eye!
Off to see her groom!
Jill and Isaac were originally supposed to have their ceremony in Jill’s hometown church, but quarantine guidelines kept them from doing so. Instead, we did their first look in the church and mimicked Jill walking down the aisle!
They also received communion and a blessing!
Back to the barn for pre-ceremony photos!
This oak tree was such a gorgeous and romantic spot for their ceremony!
We had a very intrigued audience during sunset photos!
There’s always that sweet couple at a wedding that is #marriagegoals. That was definitely these two! Coordinating outfits and all!
The night ended with the most epic fireworks display!
