You guys have probably seen that I’ve been dabbling in film lately. Just a little bit here and there. So when I was planning our trip to Charleston, I was wrestling with the decision of whether to use my film or digital camera on the trip. I was hesitant to use the film camera since I had just started shooting film and I didn’t want to come back from the trip with no decent pictures! But you gotta learn somehow, so I shot the whole trip on film!
And I actually preferred shooting film on this trip! It really forced me to slow down and take in the scenery. Although the added weight of the Contax 645 was the one downside. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got the scans back last week and they actually turned out pretty decent! I have to admit, almost half the pictures were just of Spanish moss! I just couldn’t get enough of the glowy light coming through the trees and moss! So beautiful!
So here’s a little recap of our trip on film!!
No you guys know that I don’t normally like color, but I have to say that Charleston does color right! So I’ll make an exception!
Brunch at Poogan’s Porch, of course!
When the porch of you AirBnb has a gorgeous white porch, you have to get some headshots! Shoutout to Branden for nailing these shots!
We also took a day to check out some of the plantations. First up, Boone Hall!
Then we headed over to Middleton Place!
These are absolutely STUNNING!
