Would you believe that this was actually my first true Washington DC wedding? I’ve photographed all over Northern Virginia, but never a wedding in the actual city! Racing around town seeing all the iconic places- White House, Capitol building, Washington monument- really made me want to come back up soon for a day trip! There’s nothing quite like the charm and hustle-and-bustle of a big city! 

And DC was the perfect backdrop for Melissa and Gavin’s wedding! I actually wasn’t able to do an engagement session with Melissa and Gavin, so I didn’t even meet the groom for the first time until after the ceremony! But Gavin is just the nicest guy, it felt like we had already known each other! And their BIG wedding party was such a fun group! It really is a testament to a couple’s loyalty to their friends when they have so many people that are close to them! 

It was a hot, but beautiful day in DC for Melissa and Gavin’s wedding! And I feel like we covered every inch of the city! Getting ready in Georgetown, ceremony in the city, photos at Union Station, then photos and reception back in Georgetown! Phew! Here are a few of my faves from their big day!
