Where do I begin when describing Kelsey and Matthew’s wedding day. So much beauty, but not just in the things you could see. Their love for each other and the love that all their guests have for them was just as, if not more, beautiful as all the pretty details and scenery- not to mention the drop dead gorgeous couple themselves! I mean, seriously, these two belong in Vogue or something! Kelsey is an old friend on mine from high school and I am absolutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture her big day! The day couldn’t have been more perfect.
Matthew and Kelsey have the cutest love story. I’ll let Kelsey be the one to tell it to you about it:
“Matthew and I could have met 1,000 times…. We grew up 10 minutes apart, went to nearby rival high schools, and then ended up going to the same college. However, we never crossed paths until the timing was just right. After graduation, Matthew got a job teaching history at Tabb High School, where I graduated from in 2008 and he just so happened to teach my youngest sister, Kayla. Matthew quickly became Kayla’s new favorite teacher and he was the talk amongst many dinner conversations. Kayla insisted that he and I should meet since we had so much in common. I was hesitant at first but eventually contacted him on Facebook and we arranged to meet at a restaurant in November 2012. We immediately hit it off and I knew I had met my future husband that very night. Matthew and I have been together since our first date and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I now teach at Tabb Middle School (the school that feeds into the high school he teaches at) and we have made really great mutual friends within the school community. It is awesome dating a fellow educator because we can help each other with school issues and can understand each other’s passion for teaching.
Matthew took me by complete surprise (a pleasant surprise) when he proposed on January 24th, 2014. I, of course, said yes and cannot wait to begin our lives together as husband and wife.”
It seems like it was fate that brought these two together. They couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Their big day took place at the gorgeous and stunning Woman’s Club of Portsmouth. I am in love with this venue! So clean and elegant! And it went perfect with their green, gold and ivory wedding theme! So without further ado, here are Kelsey and Matthew’s wedding pictures! Congrats to the happy couple and I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in St. Lucia!!!
I’m obsessed with her Stella York dress. I’ll told Branden that if I were to do our wedding over again, I would have worn a dress just like this one!
The stones from her earrings were a gift that her dad had given to her mom a while back. So for Kelsey’s wedding, her mom made them into earrings to be her “something blue”! So perfect!
Sisters!
Time for this mama to dress her baby girl!
Cue the tears.
I LOVE this moment where Kelsey turned around and saw herself in her dress for the first time. This is when it all sank in that this was happening. Her reaction was so precious.
SO STUNNING!!!
Matthew made the arch where they said their vows! Very impressive!!
Gah!!! So gorgeous!!
Yes, the officiant is wearing a GoPro!!
I’ve never seen such an emotional ceremony. There was not a single dry eye in the house. Kelsey’s vows were so heartfelt.
I’d say Thomas is pretty excited too!
Mr. and Mrs. Leeper!!!
The proud parents!
As we were walking down the road, Kelsey spotted this little spot and I’m so glad she did!
Photo booth shenanigans! My Aunt Susan manned the photo booth!
Perhaps one of my favorite pictures of the night. Some of Kelsey’s girlfriends were pulling up the top layer of her dress while she was dancing, which made for this happy accident!
Off to St. Lucia!!
