The other weekend I drove up to Richmond for Amanda and Brian’s Virginia Museum of Fine Arts engagement session. As fall comes to a close, I was so happy to still see beautiful fall foliage all around! I just love the look of a neighborhood sidewalk covered in multi-colored fall leaves! I can’t believe this was my first time to VMFA! What a cool place nestled right in the heart of Richmond! We took advantage of the beautiful stone buildings and the cute little neighborhood streets that just ooze the classic Richmond style!
Amanda is the sorority sister of some of my past (and future) brides and was even a guest at Bethany and Sam’s wedding this past summer! I loved getting to hang out with Amanda and Brian (and their sweet pup, Crewe!) during their engagement session. One of the things I just love about engagement sessions is that this is when I can really get to the know the couple in a laid back scenario. Often times, this is the first time I am meeting the couple. So this is when I get to really know the couple and learn what makes them special and unique!
Brian and Amanda first met while they were both serving as orientation leaders at Longwood University. Amanda had a crush on Brian for a while, but it took some encouragement from a friend for them to finally start dating. As the years have gone by, Amanda says that it just keeps getting better! Then they took a romantic trip to Charleston, SC on Valentines weekend. As they perused downtown, they came across a beautiful fountain and before she knew it, Brian was down on one knee! Amanda’s family has always said the Friday the 13th was a lucky date for them- it’s when her parents were married and when her sister was born. So it was fitting that Brian proposed on Friday the 13th and they will be getting married on the 13th of August next year (although not Friday :-p).
Amanda and Brian live a few blocks from the VMFA and often walk their with their dog, Crewe. So it was the perfect place for their engagements! It was a little chilly, but these guys were total pros and weren’t phased a bit! Can’t wait for their Richmond wedding next summer!
What a pretty pup!
LOVE! I am sucker for columns!!
