One of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of my business is how close I have become with all of my brides. These ladies come into my life as “clients” but it never takes long before they turn into dear friends! When I am working with a couple, it is my goal to cultivate an experience for them through their photography as opposed to just a transactional service. I am working with them throughout the entire wedding planning process helping to make the experience as smooth and stress free as possible. And along the way I am getting to know them on a more personal level, which allows me to serve them even better! And they are gracious enough to let me into their lives and even take that same interest in my own life! They could easily just treat me like “the help”, but instead they treat me like a friend. So when I show up on the wedding day, I feel like a guest as opposed to just a vendor!
So if these couples truly feel like friends and not clients, then why would that friendship end after the wedding?! I just love being able to stay in touch with these sweet couples and watch their journeys unfold long after the wedding day! So that is why I chose to have the first annual Audrey Rose Brides gathering this year!! These girls are seeing each others engagement sessions and weddings on the blog so it’s like they already know each other! After all, they must have something in common to have hired the same wedding photographer! So this past weekend we hosted the first annual gathering of my past and future couples! We got together for a Sunday afternoon potluck at the clubhouse of my apartment complex. We sipped mimosas, played games, made new friends and caught up with old ones! I just loved having my sweet couples in one room together meeting each other for the first time! I already can’t wait for next years gathering! I so look forward to growing my friendship further with these wonderful people and watching their lives unfold!
Here’s a little sneak peek into all the fun we had! Testing out the photo booth! Love the way it turned out! A fierce battle of The Newlywed Game ensued!I really hope I didn’t get any of the guys into to trouble when they got caught with the wrong answers to some questions…. Sorry guys! Kerry and Brian aren’t even married yet, but they definitely held their own against the old married couples! Love these ladies so much! Such a fun group of gals! I’m so honored to call you all friends! Can’t wait for next year!!
