I am so excited to share Beth and Wyatt’s wedding! Such a great wedding to kick off the season! Beth and Wyatt are the sweetest couple and I had such a great time working with them and capturing their special day! Beth and Wyatt found me through another photographer, but when we met we realized that we lived in the same building!! Small world! And they actually recognized us as “Henry‘s owners”. Haha! Wyatt and his family are big Corgi people, so he was especially pleased! Beth is a such a rock star for putting this wedding together in just a few short months! We first met in January, did their engagements in February and then their wedding in March! But you would’ve have never known it! It looked like a wedding she had been planning for a year!
Beth and Wyatt are both in the Navy, she is a nuclear surface warfare officer and he is a naval flight officer. She said that on the day of their first date, she had been tear gassed at work- so that made for an awesome response to the “how was your day?” question! They are also both big runners- Wyatt completed his first Ironman in August! Beth and Wyatt wanted a wedding that was simple and intimate but traditional. They also wanted the reception to highlight the things about Norfolk and Virginia that they loved- food highlighting St. Louis (Beth’s hometown) and Virginia, local craft beer, good wine and great views of the Elizabeth River since they had guests coming from all over the world. And the color blue, Beth’s favorite color, played a major part in the wedding- her ring, shoes, decorations, bow ties, etc.
So enjoy this beautiful blue and green wedding! I had the best time being a part of the whole day! And we were especially fortunate that the wedding fell on one of those random 70 degree days in winter! Congrats Beth and Wyatt!!! :) :)
Beth incorporated some special items in her bouquet belonging to each of her grandmother’s. The lace was from her maternal grandmother’s wedding dress and the rosary belonged to her paternal grandmother. Such a great way to include the family members that can only be there in spirit.
Beth, you are a stunning and timeless bride!
Brotherly love- how sweet! :) Loving their bow ties!
Such a beautiful church!
One of the flower girls didn’t make it down the aisle. So precious!
Someone’s excited to get married!! :)
Mr. and Mrs. Beyer!!
We headed over to the Hague Bridge in Ghent for some pictures. This is where Wyatt proposed and where we did their engagement pictures!
The Hague Bridge is so special to Beth and Wyatt for various reasons. On the night that Wyatt proposed, they were walking across the bridge when Beth started to point out the locks on the bridge like the one in Paris. When she turned around she saw Wyatt down on one knee. On the wedding day, Wyatt surprised Beth with an engraved lock for them to put onto the bridge. How sweet!!! Now they will have something to look at every time they walk over this bridge and reminisce all the special moments they’ve had there.
The best man made quite an entrance into the reception!
The best man and maid of honor toasts were some of the best I’ve ever heard! So funny!
I spy a photographer in the making!! Love this shot of the flower girl taking pictures of her daddy giving his speech.
The most GORGEOUS sunset came out during the parent dances.
Beth surprised Wyatt and his brother, Dylan, with birthday cakes!
Wyatt and his brother had a few surprises up their sleeves for the reception. These guys are a hoot!
After the reception, everyone headed to a bar across the street!
The band in the bar played a special song for Beth and Wyatt to dance to. What an awesome way to end such an amazing day!!
