The Outer Banks is one of my favorite places in the world! I’ve been going every summer with my family since I was born! Now that life is a little busier, we don’t get to make it down as often as we’d like. But when Ashleigh asked about doing their engagement session in the OBX while they were down there with their family AND it happened to line up with the week that Branden had off from work, it was kismet! So we grabbed the dogs, headed down early and made a day out it! And it was perfect! 

I’ve been looking forward to shooting Hillary’s wedding since before she was even dating Chris! Hillary is the younger sister of one of my best friends from high school. So since high school, she has felt like a littler sister to me! And her family always treated me like one of their own! So when I started my photography business years ago, she would always tell me that I would be photographing her wedding one day, even though she wasn’t even dating anyone at the time! So when she and Chris started dating and I saw how happy they were, I knew it was just a matter of time before I got that fateful message from her! 

I’ve officially survived my busiest weekend of the year! 2 weddings, 24 hours on my feet shooting, 9 hours of driving and not nearly enough sleep in just 2 days! Plus, an out of town engagement session mixed in there too! Let’s just say that everything is sore! But my heart is so full!! Now it’s time to hunker down, spend the majority of this week on my computer and get ready for two more weddings this weekend! Phew! 

Joyful couples like Kara and Scott give me life!! Even when they’re wedding day forecast says rain all day long, they didn’t lost an ounce of their joy! I’ve never seen a groom smile so wide as he watched his bride down the aisle! Plus, all the sweet little moments I caught in between. Like when I was standing next to Scott watching Kara finish up pictures with her bridesmaids and he says to himself “Damn, she looks so good!” The sweetest! 

Ok, so I have to admit to a major brain fart. I had Taylor and Cameron’s engagement session all pre-blogged and ready to go for last Tuesday. Well, it wasn’t until the Friday after that that I realized it never went live! Turns out I scheduled it for 2019! You know busy season is upon us when things like that start happening! Oy! 

Nothing makes you more excited to see the sun than a week of rain! Ugh! May showers will bring June flowers, I guess? My busiest stretch of the year continues as I now go into a stretch of 4 weddings in 8 days! Yikes!! Wish me luck!!
